The BUS a Home on Wheels
It's a 1979 International, 352 v-8 gasoline, with dual 35 gallon gas tanks. It has Air brakes, so we added another air tank for airing up floats and tubes we keep on board. In the picture above, On the drivers side, mounted under the bus is a Honda generator. We have run our bus, and two 33 ft AirStream travel trailers at once with it. Mounted in the rear, in between the frame, for safty, is a 150 gallon propane tank, for the stove & oven, I planed on putting in a propain heater. It has factory front, and rear heaters, With the Honda generater, I chose to go with a 20 gallon electric hot water heater, over the four times as exspensive, 12 gallon propane. Over head we Mounted a 15000 btu Airconditioner with heat, I plan on mounting one in the rear, not that it needs it, But to just make it look better, and give it a sperate front to rear control.
Kitchen
I have alot of attenion to detail in this kitchen, with a seven foot kitchen counter, dual stainless steal sink, with rinse nosel, I mounted under a window, you can also let somebody hand you the rinse hose out the window. Its nice to spry the sand off befor entering
A new 3 bunner stove, oven, new range top, not pictured is a microwave oven mounted on the left side of the stove. The refridgerator, is the largest I could find new, to fit, hindged on the left side. I Had to remove the door to get it in. Across from the kitchen I built a custom table, the wood matches the cabinet doors, natreul wood, stained and varnished, with carved wood legs, When Traveling we have a New 25 inch color Tv mounted on it, with a 4 head Misubisi VCR
Bath Room
I install a 3 x 3 shower stall, to save space, I mount a new RV toilet in the coner, I also installed a sink, and medicine cabinet, all the plumbing was done in in 3/4 pvc, it even has shower massage.
Looking toward the front, The drivers captain chair was a nice addition, it gave it a larger appearance, also the matching couch folds into a double bed, the van type tables remove, or add a larger table for eating.
The Electronics
The bus has a Sony CD witch is tied to the VCR, if you notice to the right side of the captain chair, is my amp rack, the yellow and gray are two of the four Liner Amps. Pictured under each couch is the enclosers, now with a total of four 12 inch subwoofers. Above the windshield is two 6X9s with two 4x6 plates next to the TV. It is wired up for Satelite, or cable, and also front and rear telephone. Inside the rear bedroom is a stereo and new 12 inch color TV, and a pentium 133 Mhz computer 16 meg ram. The bus is also equipped with a Magellan Satilight Tracking System
Left is at home in the snow. Right is on Galvaston Beach. After the trip to Texas, I decided to limo tint the windows with a five inch stripe acroos the front, and paint the roof with a reflective white RV paint, and painted a continues black stripe on the side.
The Bed Room
what NO pictures!!! Well I have about 10 roles still to develope, On the Passanger side Is a Double Bed With a nice wood book case head board, night lite, Am/Fm Cass, 12 volt and 110 plug inns. The bed lefts for storage, also has custom build draws.
Across from the bed is a couch/single bed, or short dressing table, Under it is mounted the hot water heater, water pumps, etc.
Like in the kitchen, Both sides of the bedroom, has custom built wood cabinets, built from end to end, A lot of storage here.
Across The rear of the bus, I left enough room for two lawn chairs, one on each side, or we have a double air matteress in case we have more company, It has a 12 inch color TV and VCR also
future
I have not painted it yet, leaving that for last, the kids think it's neat the color it is. My neighbor, Denny said he had 5 gallons of dark metalic gray? and he would paint it. but I would like to add a 3 ft deck on the rear for a bar-b-q pit, and what is called a NASCAR deck on top, the lenght of the bus, with the 3 ft over hang in the rear, to match the pourch. First, then paint.
I dont know if I would like Dark Metalic Gray, with Limo tint windows, and a white roof, I was thinking a brite Yellow ?
Also I need an Awning, so keep your eyes open, 25 ft would be perfect.
This picture taken on a mountain top in Flemmingsburg Kentucky.
