Vision council has decided that the 1999 gathering is going to be in Pennsylvania. I for one would love to be able to scout for this event. I live only a few hours from the forest.
If you know of an upcoming Rainbow related event and would like it posted, please Mail me at the___shadow@hotmail.com with the info you would like posted.
Well it looks like Chuck's farm is the place.
The PA family is having the National Annual Thanksgiving Council at the Sunflower farm in PA. all are welcome to attend. Directions: from I80- take the Lamar exit, go south on that road until you come to 445. make a left and go over the mountain to Madisonburg. You will come to road 192, make a left. go through the town of Rebersburg. we are about 2.2 miles out of town. mailbox #76 on the right. If you look at your Rand Mcnally, we are on the eastern Pa map, left hand side and a little up from center look for Rebersburg on state road 192. we are 2.2 miles east of town.
I would suggest, as someone who has lived there for a few years:
Portable heaters to heat the main tents.
Wood burning stoves with smoke stack to reach 10'-15'.
Sturdy and waterproof tents(personal).
Warm beding.
Food to share.
Firewood.
Flashlight.
Pray for nice weather!
Scout rendezvous is April 17 at Chuck's farm. Hopefully the scouts will have already found the spot by then.
Family fiancial matters are to be kept off the net.( It was noted that postings on newsgroups are admissible as evidences in court.
Site discussions should be done with e-mail instead of news-groups.
An office was decided upon, along with bankers.
The Rainbow Family Of Living Light
1999 National Gathering P.O. Box is:
Rainbow '99
P.O. Box 3082
Maple Glen, PA 19002-8082
This is set up to receive funds for the gathering as well as provide info for folks. Consensus was made that some of the money will also be used to help cover the scouting expenses.
Family is to have more fun.
Spring council will be held May 28 to May31.
Equinox work council on March 20&21.
Having a strong presence of positive energy at front gate was discussed. This includes the possibility of focalizing some type of kitchen.
It was noted that the Republican National convention would also be in PA this coming year.
There were some other things, but I didn't take notes. I should have a little more info soon.
Once I start scouting I'll keep this page updated. Maybe I'll be able to scan in some pics of possible sites.
Clean-up for the 1999 gathering will begin on
Part of the biggest problem we face in rainbow is getting new gatherers to understand they are responsible for what they do to the wooods. they have lived a life where they just sh*t in a bowl of water and it disappears. babylon has taught them to set out their trash and it disappears. one of the biggest reasons why this planet is being trashed the way it is. folks are to far removed from the mother and they don't have any concept of what their garbage is doingto the mother.
the emphasis needs to be on personal responsibility for the garbage they create within the gathering.....the empty cookie bags, pop cans, cigarette butts/packs, etc. stating it begins on the 11th leads folks to believe that someone other than themselves are responsible forclean up! part of the council discusssion centered on that very issue. teaching folks to take responsibility the minute they walk on site has become a priority all over the country.
every gatherer(except those unable) are a part of the clean up crew and clean up begins the moment you enter the woods. if a person carries their own trash out as they leave, they soon develop an appreciation of what others must do, if they have to clean up after them and 19,999 gatherers.)
posting or discussing of possible sites is contrary to the spirit and consensus of keeping this info out ofcyberspace. why make it easier on the forest disservice by spoonfeeding them our every move? in addition to that it could be very misleading to the casual observer looking for where the gathering is. if they see places listed on your page they may act on what they have seen without verifying the facts.
March 20th - 21st
at
Natures Friends Farm
428 Glenwild Avenue
Bloomingdale, NJ 97403
973-492-2524
South: NJ Turnpike to 287 north to Hamburg Turnpike (694)
East: Rt. 80 west to 287 north to Hamburg Turnpike (694)
West: Rt. 80 east to 287 north to Hamburg Turnpike (694)
Travel past quarry over railroad tracks and enter Bloomingdale. Go through first light and through business district, bear right at fork. Follow arrow towards West Milford and bear right up hill onto Glenwild Avenue. Go 2.2 miles and look for Natures Friends Farm sign and farm on right.
Natures Friends Farm is on 9 acres backed by 6000 acres of State Forest. This is a performing arts center and art gallery, there probably will be a show hanging. Keri and Byron are the owners and all they ask is we be respectful. We will pass the hat to cover expenses for use of the facility. The large performance space is heated by a wood stove and there is a kitchen we can use. Keri requests that we have a kitchen crew. There is one indoor bathroom so we will have to dig a shitter in the woods. Plenty of space to camp or you can sleep in the main room. The indoor space is a smoke free environment. There also is a sweat lodge.
Bring food for the kitchen, toilet paper, your own bowl, cup, spoon, sleeping/camping gear and other personal items you may need. This is only for 2 days so you won’t need a lot.
For the work council bring art supplies, large sign materials, laminating sheets and anything else your creative mind can think of. Remember all signs will be in the weather so best to bring permanent and waterproof materials.
This is a time to brainstorm and put together a lot of the things we didn’t cover at Thanksgiving Council. Please pass this info on so folks who want to come will know about it.
Looking forward to seeing you on the Equinox!!!
The scouts are now out looking at possible sites. The Allegheny has limited possible sites so scouts are also looking in the north east.
Scouting council conscenced that directions to spring council would not be released untill two(2) weeks prior. Council site to be determined by the scouts.(So please don't bother e-mailing asking where things are. As soon as info is released, it will be on the lightline (215)309-0699 or on this page.)
Iwould like to extend my personal thanks to all those that sent in contributions to the scouts. I'm off to the forrest now to find us a home. Love ya!
From I-80 (Brookville Pa.- exit 13) take state road 36 north to Tionesta & US 62 north(right turn) , follow US 62 n. to East Hickory & state road 666 east (right turn) take st. rt. 666 east to FS 209 north/Yellow Hammer Road(left turn) Yellow Hammer road is shaped like a Rainbow (curves back around to sr 666) with FS 209 going off in a northeasterly direction at the apex of Yellow Hammer road(left turn) . You can tell that it is the turn-off for FS 209, because the pavement changes
After 0.6 miles the pavement becomes a very rocky gravel road. Go Slow! From there it is 2.9 miles to FS 551(left turn) the numbers 551 are spray painted on the "NO OUTLET sign.(see parking below)
From Erie(I-90,I-79,NY 17): take I-79 south to US 6 East, follow US 6 E. to US 62 south, Take US62 S. to East Hickory & state road 666;(then same as above)(SEE PARKING BELLOW)
From New York on US 62 south: Take US 62 south to East Hickory Pa. & state road 666 east Then:(same as first route)(SEE PARKING BELLOW)

"PARKING"
Parking will be along the right side of FS 551 except for Busses, which will be on your ammediate left after turning on FS 551. After you park go to the fork and take the upper branch with the gate(left fork) the Spring Council will be past the gate.
"WARNING"
Do not try to drive cars with low clearence down the RIGHT fork. Jane tried to and messed up her clutch linkage.
At this point there is no kitchen coming and no water. bring food, water, or a Kitchen if possible.
"RUMOR CONTROL"
Any Rumors that say that a specific place is going to be the GATHERING SITE is just that-a RUMOR & SOULD BE DISREGARDED! The gathering site WILL NOT be decided until Spring Council & will be released shortly after!
I too got a call from the scouts and they asked that the family be informed that they are not preparing a camp or kitchen for Spring Council. Everyone should be self sufficient and share. Bring food and lots of water as there is none there. The Scouts said if you are planning to stay after council come prepared to work. There is much to do to get the site ready for the gathering. If you are coming just to gather wait until the gathering starts on June 28.
Please pass this info on ..call your local lightline and have them announce this...send to all focalizers in your area. The internet is wonderful, however not everyone in our family is on it and we still are real big on the word of mouth method we have been using for years.
The site still has not been picked. Spring council is going on right now. The site will be announced soon. Please be patient.
Howdy Folks! Welcome Home!

>From the North , Northeast & Northwest Hwys. 90, 17, & 6 lead to US 219 south to Ridgway.
>From the South, East & West take Interstate 80 to exit 18 and follow US 153 north. At Penfield take US 255 to St. Marys and take PA 120 west to Ridgway. Heavy, large vehicles use this route. Cars and small Vans only may use Interstate 80 to exit 16 and follow US 219 to Ridgway. US 219 North is steep, twisty and dangerous for large rigs - DO NOT USE THIS ROUTE. If you are checking a map for another route coming from the south also avoid 949 north as it leads to Arroyo Road which has a narrow bridge with a 3 Ton limit.
In Ridgway at the intersection of Main St. and Broad you will see a Sheets Convenience Store on the left go straight through 4 lights. Site is approx. 9 miles. Go up a steep hill and over a narrow bridge. Speed limit is 30 mph. You'll eventually see a sign for Little Drummer, keep driving. There is a sign for ATV Timberline Trailhead and you are real close. At the intersection of Arroyo Rd and Spring Creek Rd. make a right onto FS 136 (not marked, dirt road). Go north 4.5 miles towards Owls Nest. Welcome Home!!! Follow speed limits - 20 mph on dirt roads.
Come home safely, take care of each other along the way. Make sure your vehicles are safe and street legal. Ignore all rumors of cancellation, regardless of source. If you cannot be with us in person on the 4th of July be with us in spirit by joining in the silence.
