Melaque? Where on earth is Melaque? This was what I wanted to know when my Dad suggested we go there. What I found was pounding surf, miles and miles of soft, sandy beaches, and lots and lots of local colour. I was about to fall in love with a wonderful village on the Pacific Ocean.

Our adventure began months before as we sat around a summer campfire talking about our "dream" vacations. There are 10 of us. My parents; my brother, his wife and 2 girls (14 and 16); and my husband, daughter (15) and son (16). We decided then and there that all 10 of us would travel from Canada to someplace hot, a place you could lay on the beach, do some snorkeling, and maybe drink a few margaritas. My Dad had a friend who had recently returned from a very inexpensive trip to Mexico, a place called Melaque. I decided to do some on-line research, and see what I could find. What I found was a wonderful site featuring information on The Pacific Coast of Mexico. The web page was chock full of wonderful information about Melaque and the surrounding area. I knew this was where I wanted to go. Seven months later, we were there!
