SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 1997

We got a wake-up call from Mickey at 7a.m.. Couldn't go the whole trip without one of those. It was so cute. We got up and over to the Magic Kingdom by 8:30. None of the rides were open yet, so we took our picture with Minnie Mouse and I got a quick picture of Goofy. We then headed over to the line at Adventureland.

At Adventureland, there were about 100 people waiting for the land to open. It was crowded. At 9 a.m. sharp, the gate opened after a message was said over the whole park. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to who or what was being said. But anyway, we wnet straight to the Jungle Cruise. We got on the first boat. The speaker or CM was pretty funny. I know. It's probably rehearsed. Then we headed to the Pirates of the Carribean. We got right on that, too. Jen wanted to do Splash Mountain, so that's where we headed next. I chickened out. Couldn't stomach it at that point. While she went on the ride, I stood in front of the drop so that I could get wet by the splash. It was already in the 80's. By the time we met back up, we went to see the Country Bear Jamboree. That was so cute and refreshing. It was nice and cool inside. And for the bears, they were adorable. I really liked it. We only waited 5 minutes to see it. We decided we wanted a more action packed ride, so we headed to Thunder Mountain Railroad. This was really fun. It was a great ride. No steep falls, which was a plus. My stomach can't handle them. It was only 10:45 at this point, so we decided to ho over to Liberty Square.

At Liberty Square, we saw the Haunted Mansion. This is really cool. I thought it was so unique. It wasn't scary. Actually, I thought that it was kinda imaginative. We missed the Hall of Presidents somewhere along the way.

At Fantasyland, we went on "It's a Small World" and "Peter Pan's Adventure." I loved these two rides. I felt like a little kid again. In Peter Pan's ride, it really looks like your flying over a city. It was so neat. Then we saw "Snow White's Scary Adventure" and "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride." I personally saw nothing scary or wild about them. They were so-so rides. A kid might like them but it is pretty boring for an adult.

It was about 12ish now so we decided to go eat lunch. We ate lunch at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. It was pretty tasty. We had hamburgers and Fries. Like everyone says, the food is expensive. As far as souveniers, I found those reasonably priced.

After we ate, we headed back down Main Street. I went to The Chapeau to get my nieces and nephews some ears with their names on it. The lady stitched them pretty quick. Then we headed over to the Emporium for some shopping.

At about 1:30 we headed back to the hotel and took a dip in the piano pool right in front our building.

We headed back for MK at around 5:30. We ate supper at Tony's Town Square. Let me tell you, make sure that you do priority seating. It definitely has it's advantages. The restaurant was themed after Lady and the Tramp. We sat next to the statue, so I got a picture of it. The spaghetti and meatballs are good there. As always, I had to take some of it with me when I left....on my shirt! I am such a slob. When we were done at 6:30, we went shopping some more.

We grabbed a seat at the curb at 7:15 for the Spectro Magic Parade. By the way, it does fill up quick and early. It was crowded by 8:15. The parade was gorgeous. It was very pretty. It was the first time we saw Mickey. After the last float went by, we got on the street and followed it to the castle. We stood on the walkway to Tomorrowland. Tinkerbell flew right over us and the "Fantasy in the sky" fireworks began. They were pretty, too. It was like a zoo trying to get out of there after the fireworks. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the bus stop. Everyone pushing and shoving. Not a pretty sight.

WEATHER: Humid and partly cloudy.

CROWD: Light during the day and crowded at night.
