Didi's father comes from the same village as Riel: Kota Gedang, West Sumatra.
By marrying Didi, Tom went back to the old custom to marry someone from the same village.
Didi's father as well as Riel married someone completely outside the village environment.
It only proves the theory that life goes in circles. 
And so we go to the residence of the Rivai Family where Tom and Didi's wedding reception was held.
