Sheringham Point Lighthouse, August, 2000
The Sheringham Point Lighthouse, near Shirley on southern Vancouver Ialand was built in 1912. The original hexagonal concrete tower is still in use. In 1976, the original third order fresnel lens was replaced by a revolving beacon. That mechanism is still in use.
You can get relatively close to the lighthouse, but a high fence prevents you from reaching it.
I visited the lighthouse and viewed it through the fence during my summer vacation in 2000.
