Marrowstone Point Lighthouse, August, 1997
The original Marrowstone Point Lighthouse was built in 1888. The present, somewhat non-descript structure was erected in 1918.
The lighthouse is southeast of Port Townsend. If you take the ferry between Port Townsend and Whidbey Island, both this lighthouse and the Point Wilson Lighthouse are visible. But the drive to Marrowstone Point is a long one, as it is at the tip of a long peninsula extending up from the south.
The lighthouse is approachable by walking about 600-700 metres down a moderately steep path from the parking lot.
