Protea, the national flower of South Africa This is about a trip we made to South Africa. We intend to go to Indonesia but at that time there were big forrest fires and a few days before we should go we changed direction and went to South Africa.

Map of South Africa Protea, the national flower of South Africa You see on the map which route we took.

  • Start in Joburg.
  • Via Mpumalanga to The Krüger National Park.
  • Via Swaziland to KwaZulu-Natal.
  • Around Lesotho through the Drakensberg.
  • Back to the Coast to Knysna and TsitsiKamma rain forrest
  • Hermanus, Walker Bay, to see the Whales.
  • End point Cape Town

Protea, the national flower of South Africa During the complete trip we had our own truck. It was very comfortable, it had a lot of space and was well equiped.

Truck
The Truck was specially prepared by Drifters Tours, the organisation that arranged the trip. They have a lot of experience in trips through Africa. The first night of the trip we stayed in their Bush camp near the Krüger Park.

Protea, the national flower of South Africa The Protea is the national Flower of South Africa. It will be used when a new paragraph starts.

Button with rhino in park

The parks

We went to three parks to see game. Unfortunately we saw only four animals of the Big Five. The Leopard escaped us. But instead of the Leopard we saw a hunting Cheetah.
Button with zulu dance

The Zulus

We went to a Zulu vilage in KwaZulu Natal. Unfortunately this place was very touristic.
Button with Cape Agulhas

The most southern point of the continent

The most southern point of Africa is not Cape of Good Hope as many people believe!
Button for Cape Town

Near Cape Town

Cape Town is one of the finest cities in South Africa (well at least for tourists).
