Fishing in Hawaii | |

I am really new
at this fishing stuff. But it is quite fun when the reel buzzes and line tears off
of the spool like clothes off of two teenagers on prom night. I have to admit, I am
more of a 'catcher' and not much into 'fishing'. I just don't have the patience of a
real fisherman. Those that are, I applaud you. So when the weather is nice and
the freezer is empty I drag a few lures behind my boat and catch dinner. (gotta love
that grilled mahi-mahi) Most of the guys I know and have talked to troll with plastic lures. For me this is good because you don't have to worry about getting bait, and that makes it much easier to wake up and say, "I think I'll go out fishing this morning." It can be very spontaneous. The most popular catches will also hit the same lures (pretty nice of them). Marlin, Ahi (yellow fin tuna), Aku (skipjack tuna), Ono (wahoo), and Mahi-Mahi (dorado) are caught regularly. I have yet to catch my first marlin, but my time will come.
