Natalie's favorite winter sport is the one-girl bobsled. Although she likes to warm up with the two-person bobsled, then shortly after kicks Daddy or the driver de jur off the sled and takes over.
In early February we went to Amden, which is a small ski and sledding town visited by the locals. Our friends Walter and Brigette introduced us to place.
This is the view from the restaurant's deck.
Here is Natalie practicing for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Sometimes she let Daddy or Walter drive (I think just for added weight so she could get the speed up).
Here is Natalie with her bobsled coach Walter.
(You can see he is tall and provided good extra weight.)
In late February we went to the Farmers Sled Race, another local tradition. Like all the festivals, people dressed up as crazy as could be and decorated their sleds too. There were sleds that looked like motorcycles, houses, and even out-houses complete with a toilet for the driver.
Here is a samples of the bizarre sleds in this race. The participants took this race very serious, and their beer even more serious.
