Von Halabuks Visit the Royals in London

Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.

We visited London one rainy week in March (or does it always rain here?). As usual, our first act was a tour of the city (to plan the rest of the week). The "local" way to see the city was of course, by taxi. We rented a taxi (complete with driver/tour guide) to show us all the famous spots and give us the best gossip (the Brits just love that). Well, we found out that lady Di was actually pregnant and the Royals themselves were behind the assassination. We got lots more good information that we passed on to Dateline.

Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.

Here is our obligatory photo session with the Royal guards. (They insist every time). They only thing on their bodies that moved was their eyeballs. The taxi driver told us if we get a little too close they would go ballistic, we decided not to test that. Price Charles rear apartment door is just to the left.

Here is Natalie and Jeanette in front of the famous Tower Bridge.
Here Natalie and Jeanette stop to ask Dwight and Winston for the best tea and crumpets in town (and yes we got some).

Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.

In the center of town there are a couple of large and beautiful parks.
I don't know.

Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.

Of course we saw (briefly) most of the famous spots such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Royal Albert Hall, Harrods, Tower of London, and Westminster Abby.

The favorite method of transportation of locals in this fabled town is "The Tube." The Tube is the local underground rail. There is a huge maze of tunnels intersecting beneath the city that gets you within a couple blocks of anywhere you want to go.
Oh, and every time you get off The Tube you get the following recording imprinted in your mind for life:

Mind the gap. Mind the gap. Mind the gap.
