Tuition Blues

Wanted to run an experiment.
Studies in the field are best.
But sometimes it is to a student's detriment
If she's active when she should be at rest...

Tuition is expensive these days;
Sometimes you think it hardly pays
To get an education.
Tuition is for those who afford it,
Have their treasure and hoard it
For later dispensation.

I'd been wondering a long, long time
If songs could work in a No Magic Zone
So I tried a somewhat painful rhyme,
And for that act I must atone...

Tuition is expensive these days;
Sometimes you think it hardly pays
To get an education.
Tuition is for those who survive it,
Take a juggernaut and drive it
In search of Information.

They say when opportunity knocks
. you gotta open the door...
Sometimes it seems much wiser
. to cringe on the floor...

Tuition is expensive these days
Sometimes you think it hardly pays
To get an education.
Tuition can cost you everything you live for.
They're gonna make you give and give more:
Eternal tribulation.

Esarvee, Composer

[Historic Note: Shortly after Jandor became a Master of the Five Magics, he and Gyrodex (future Mortal Leader of Master Cabal) were grouped together during a raid on the BattleRager cabal. The raid was called while Jandor and Esarvee had been grouped for practicing and rising in the ranks. Esarvee was left alone in Galaxy, resting and waiting, while Jandor and Gyrodex fought the Destructor of Magic. In need of healing, Jandor tesseracted himself and Gyrodex to Esarvee, who sang a song of healing to bring them back to health. Jandor forgot to move into another room before he tessed back to the raid, so Esarvee was dragged along. As soon as she realized she was in the No Magic Zone of Battle Cabal, she decided to prove once and for all that the songs of bards were not magic. She sang "Fire & Ice", which sent fireballs throughout the room. The Ragers present all turned on her, killing her. She lost all her armor and weapons, including a very lovely invisible lyre (level 57) which had been her most prized possession, and a gift to her from Jandor. Because she could send fireballs flying throughout the room where the Destructor of Magic fought the Masters, Esarvee had proven to all that the songs of bards were not magic.]
