Here on NCCU's campus my chapter Gamma Gamma continues to live the legacy. Since the Fraternity's inception in 1914 it has ever since been promoting "Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service" and it's members making sure the frat's "Cause Speeds on its Way". Phi Beta Sigma was founded January 9th, 1914 on the campus of Howard University (the Alpha Chapter) by the most honorable lords: A. Langston Taylor, Charles I. Brown, and Leonard F. Morse. Our Principles are : "Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service" and our motto has forever been : "Culture For Service, Service for Humanity".
Did you know that Sigma was the first to have chapters in Africa? And who do you think founded the National Pan-Hellinic Council? And we won't even go there about the origins of cane stepping.....
