Hasbro/Kenner periodically makes some items available via unadvertised direct mail order. Their stock changes on an irregular basis, and their prices are always higher than retail even before shipping, but it is sometimes a good place to try to get those items that are shortpacked in cases or that retailers are not ordering.

Many collectors have had success ordering upcoming items in-store at Service Merchandise since the store begins catalogging new item part numbers in their computer system before the items first ship. Many stores will grant you an in-store raincheck, however they may not guarantee which pieces in a case they will hold for you, since their system only catalogs by the case, not the individual piece.
