Drone |
|
The drone mines the minerals and the vespene gas. Without them, your econmy would come to a standstill. |
Overlord |
|
The overlord provides 'control' so that your units don't run out of hand. You need to build one overlord for every eight units. |
Zergling |
|
The zergling is one of the weakest unit in the game. In large numbers, however, they can be effective, especially in an early rush. You get two zerglings from one egg. |
Hydralisk |
|
The hydralisk composes the backbone of the zerg swarms. It fires spines which are stored in the armoured carapace of the hydralisk. |
Mutalisk |
|
The mutalisk is a fast, flying unit which fires a spray of acid at air and ground units. It can morph into guardian form, but it cannot morph back. |
Scourge |
|
The scourge is a flying unit that flies kamikaze style into any nearby unit. You get two scourges from one egg, and they take off a lot of damage. They only have twenty five life, though. |
Queen |
|
The queen has no attack of her own, but she has four special abilities: spawn broodling (plants a seed in an enmy unit, from which two broodlings emerge), parasite (which allows you to see what the enemy unit sees), ensnare (slows down a group of units) and infestation (infests a terran command center). |
Ultralisk |
|
The ultralisk is a huge unit which attacks with two scythe-like blades. Approach these with extreme caution, or from air. |
Defiler |
|
The defiler has three special abilities: dark swarm (provides visual cover for units), plague (takes all enemy units down to one point of life) and consume (which gives the defiler energy when used on a zerg unit.). |
Guardian |
|
The guardian is mutated from the mutalisk, and cannot be 'built' anywhere else. It fires a more intense acid spray than the mutalisk, but it cannot fire in the air. |
