RACKSTER'S CYBER STORY:
My first computer was a IBM XT clone that I bought from a computer show in 1986.
In 1993, I bought my current computer - a Packard Bell 486. Shortly thereafter,
I visited my brother (Rat) in Lakewood, Washington, where he introduced me to a really cool on-line
service -- the ImagiNation! Network. After returning home, I decided to sign up
to the ImagiNation Network, (INN) myself. That is where the picture above is from.
A NEW HOME:
I spent many hours online playing the various games found on the ImagiNation Network. My brother introduced me
to the place where he spent almost all of his online time on INN, a real cool host called "Trivia Haven". The people of the
"Haven" were some of the most friendliest people ever found in cyberspace.
The theme of the host was on-line "live" trivia games. This form of online
entertainment was quite unique as was INN, and along with interesting
questions, came interesting answers, and some of the funniest "cross
talk" ever found in any online triva game!
THE END OF AN ERA:
Well, like many great things in life, INN fell way to bigger and "better"
ways of delivering online entertainment. It was sold to AT&T in 1995,
and re-sold to AOL in 1996. Because it was a MS-Dos based system,
the INN folks were eager to replace it with a newly developed Windows
'95 online system. So, on August 31, 1996, that really cool online service
suddenly went "away". We are still waiting for AOL to launch the new
service. We're told INN's "replacement"is gunna be called "CyberPark". They promised it
would be up and running by the Fall of 1996......well, we're still waiting!
RACKSTER'S NEW OLINE HANGOUTS:
These days, You can find me in cyberspace on America Online as TheRack123, or as whoever when I am lurkin'
around the web!
AN IVITATION!:
So look me up on AOL sometime. Oh by the way,
in case you were wondering, I finally scraped enough pennies to buy a new computer. Now, I spend my time online
using a PowerSpec PII 333 computer that I bought at Micro Center.
