Fort Brimestone Graphics Vue d'Esprit Images

The images below were all created with Vue d'Esprit. The version used is notated on the respective images.

Paradise

This image is a complete rework of an earlier work in Vue d'Esprit 2. I was never really satisfied with the old sky, so when I got Vue3, I decided to see if it would spice up the scene. The difference was amazing. Two Poser 4 figures, along with a boat and gazebo from Ray Dream Studio 5.02.
The End of a Perfect Day

This image was started using Vue2, but completed with Vue 3. It had been another rough day at work, and my mind was on someplace else as I began to work. You know, it's funny how many times that happens :-)
Altar of the Ancients

My first total Vue3 scene. One of my favorite 3D sites put the "Skull Altar" up for download, and I knew I had to create a scene around it. The "Creeper" creatures are from Zygote. The two with robes are wearing poseable robes from Zygote's Costume Shop CD. The cave is a "Canyon" landscape that was inverter to make a cave.
Backyard

When the coldest weather of the year hit here last week, I sat at the computer fondly remembering the wonderful summer weather. In tribute, here is some Vue3 plants in a simple scene. The fence in the background is a simple box with a plank texture applied.
Mountain Cottage

The core of this Vue3 scene is a house that was created in Floorplan 3D, exported as a DXF, and imported into Vue3. The other items/furniture in this scene comes from the TriGallery collection of 3D objects.
Longing

The core of this scene is the Mountain Cottage above. Poser 4 female with conforming clothing from Zygote's Costume Shop CD was added along with a single rose exported from Ray Dream Studio 5.02.

This image is dedicated to my father, who passed away on December 20th, 1999. He loved the outdoors, and nature, and the grief of his passing was the motivation behind this image.

Detail version showing depth of field capabilities of Vue d'Esprit. This does have an adverse effect on render time :
14 hours, 42 minutes, 10 seconds at 800x600 Ultra render settings.

Final version with modified textures for the fairy, an additional male fairy, and some Plant Studio 1.6 plants in the background.
Mystic Woods

Scene composed and rendered using Vue d'Esprit 3.02beta. All objects created within Vue d'Esprit except the fairy model. Fairy model was posed using Poser 4 from Metacreations. Fairy model and texture is from Zygote. The texture for the log in the foreground is from Mastering 3D Graphics.

For those of you interested in the specifics, here they are:
  • Zygote Fairy posed in Poser 4. Exported as Wavefront OBJ
  • Scene is comprised of 940 objects and 2 lights
    • 2 Terrains
    • 1 Ground Plane
    • 363" Rural Maple Tree"
    • 168 "Patch of Grass"
    • 33 "Dry Weeds"
    • 231 "Long Grass"
    • 12 "Fern"
    • 3 "Reeds"
    • 1 "Dead Tree"
    • 1 Point Light
    • Sunlight
  • Render time on Pentium III 450 Mhz with 256 MB PC100 SDRAM:
2 hours, 35 minutes, and 14 seconds at 1024x768 with Final render quality setting.
  • All textures are from Vue d'Esprit 3 except the Fairy and the dead log.
For the first time, I made extensive use of the scatter function to help position the trees and plants in a seemingly random method.

Hilltop

This started as an experiment with using cloud textures on spheres. The basic atmosphere shows on the left of the image. It is a modified version of the "Amsterdam" preset with Vue 3. The suns' position was changed, and one cloud layer was modified. To the right, is a preset modified with turbulence, rotation, and underlying transparency material. The maple tree in the foreground is actually a maple tree and a dead tree with remapped surface. A Zygote Eagle and a Poser 4 female figure completes the image. The female Poser figure is using transparency maps for the hair, and for the loin cloth set (from the Poser Forum Online).
