This page contains information on the Halberd Quest. This quest can only be performed by a Knight, and the Knight must have already completed the Agate Quest
Preliminary Information
There are several steps involved in this quest, and those include fights with 2 lair monsters in different lands. There are 2 sections below: a section on how to get the misery dagger, and a section how to get the halberd and complete the quest.
Getting the Misery Dagger
To get the misery dagger and complete the first half of the quest, there are a couple things that need to be done. First, go to the Oakvael Knight trainer, and find Brych. Say "Brych, train me" for him to give you the quest. Once you have recieved the quest, you must find and kill the Yeti to get the misery dagger. The yeti is a very difficult lair monster for every character but thieves, so most Knights find a thief to help get the misery dagger for them. Right now, the misery dagger is not a tied item: anyone can give it to you to complete the quest. This may be changed in a later version, but until then it is still much more fun to do the quest yourself!
Getting the Halberd and Completing the Quest
After getting the misery dagger, head back to Brych and give him the misery dagger. In return for the dagger, Brych will hand you a +5 glowing halberd, which is a tied weapon. After recieving the halberd, the most difficult part of the quest comes: get past the Whirlwind dragon and find the NPC who will train you. The Whirlwind dragon is located in the reptile pit, which is below the Undead level of Oakvael. You may want to bring along a few friends for this trip. Only Knights may enter the area. Once you defeat the Whirlwind dragon, and after a couple more secret doors, you will find Gorfwyltra, the NPC trainer. Hold the halberd in your right hand and say "Gorfwlytra, train me". You will then have completed the quest and earned 16 extra hitpoints!
