This page contains information on how to perform the quest to become a knight. Only fighters can become knights. Although the quest can be performed anywhere, I will show how to do it in Oakvael, as I think it is the easiest.
Prelimenary Information
So you want to be a knight. To become a knight, you must be a fighter, of lawful alignment, and at level 8 or above. There are no items required to become a knight, but you must travel to the land's Knight Trainer. I will show below how to perform the quest in Oakvael.
Knight's Trainer in Oakvael
To find the Knight's Trainer in Oakvael, begin at the portal. There may be some somewhat dangerous monsters on the way, so I recommend finding an escort. Head North and slightly east from the portal area, crossing the river on the way. Keep an eye out for griffins, bears and boars along the way. Once you reach the northmost point of Oakvael, there will be large trees blocking you from going any farther north. Follow these trees east until you can see any opening in the trees. It is kind of obscure, but once you see it follow the one-hex wide path through the trees. At the end of the path is a rope to climb down. Once you climb down it, you will see 2 knights. Make sure your right hand is empty, then walk to the hex in front of the female knight. Say "(NPC Knight name), train me". You will then become a knight, and your knight's ring will be in your hand. Put it on immediately so you will be able to use your spells. If you ever happen to lose it, come back and you can buy a new one for 100sh. Never use one that is not yours, it will explode!
