Welcome to my web site. Basically I covered some of my favorite topics with links to some of my favorite web sites. My page isn't the Official this or that, just my site and my opinion of what's good, heh. I change it often so check back occasionally if you like. Enjoy!
I'm a big fan of hockey. I play novice hockey and watch it as much as possible. Here are some sites that cover all kinds of hockey. Check out the
I have recently started on the road to becoming a hockey Official. It is a great way to stay in the game and also get paid for doing it! You get a chance to help teach kids the right and wrongs of the great game and also get good exercise for yourself. Contact me for more information about getting into officiating in the DC / Baltimore area, check out Southeastern Hockey Officials Association or check out the USA hockey site above.

I worked part time in a movie theater for about 2 years so I get to see a lot of free movies. Here are links to movie studios and some of my personal favorite movies.
Here are some links to the major motion picture studios. These are the "official" sites for movies and change often as new movies come out.
Now here are some links to my favorite movie sites that aren't the "offical" sites. Just dedicated fans.
One of my favorite movie sites no longer exists. It was for the movie Strange Days that came out last year. It was not only a cool movie but the web site was really awesome. But like I said, unfortuneatly it no longer exists. It's like web sites have a life span shorter than a taco bell employee...

My favorite baseball team is my home team the Baltimore Orioles. I have been an O's fan since the late 1970's when my step father (an O's fan for many years before) took the family to games. They've been changing alot lately, but I still love the O's. How about three cheers for the ultimate baseball hero, Cal Ripken!! Lets Go O's!! The Best team in Baseball!!
My favorite hockey team is the home club the Washington Capitals. I have been a fan of hockey and the Capitals since the mid 1980's. The Caps have been the same the whole time I've watched them but that doesn't keep me from being a fan. They finally made it to the finals and got beat good. But that's OK, it's all a learning experience. And while they aren't doing that great right now, I still have hope for them to pull it out one the get some healthy guys. Lets Go Caps!!!
Still only a few sites but I know of others I'm checking out. You can find more team sites at some ofthe links up in the Hockey section.

I listen to Howard every morning on the way to work, and for the time being, while at work. I'm lucky enough to have my own office where I know I won't offend anyone by listening to him. He's hillarious. I have both his books and would love to get some of the old videos he has released. Yea, he has said things that offend me in some way, but he says something about everybody. You have to look at it with a open mind and don't take things he says personally. Tune in for a few days and you'll start to understand the type of humor that has made the man the King of All Media!
By far the best site out there for Stern is King of All Media Web Site. It is updated almost daily and keeps you up to date on all the latest goings on. iI you are like me and can't hear every minute of every day this is a good place to go and catch up on things.
An "official" site if you will is the E!online Howard Stern site. I think the best feature of this page is the schedule for Howards nightly E! show. But there are also other interesting tid bits that can be found here. If you are one of the many cable viewers (like Howard) who don't get E!, call your cable company and bitch them out!
Of course I wouldn't be a fan if I didn't plug Jackie "The Jokeman"'s web page. It is a pretty decent web page even for Jackie, heh.

Since moving in with an animal lover, I have turned into an animal lover as well. At the height of the insanity I had in my care: 2 ferrets, 3 cats, 2 dogs and 1 snake. However, both my roommate and I agreed that we couldn't possibly care for all the animals we aquired and we agreed to downsize and not get any new animals for a while. Because on top of what I had in my apartment she had a parrot and another cat. When we moved into a house it was time to downsize. Now we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, an african grey and a boa constirctor. Anyway, here are some links to some of the better personal and professional animal links I have come across.
Here are links for Reptiles (snakes specifically):
One of the first pets I got after moving out on my own were ferrets. My roommates step-father had already built a cage that we used and first bought a cute little female named Belle and then bought her a companion a month later and named him Spyke. He was a big oaf with a stripe of white fur down the middle of his head, hence the name Spyke.
Ferrets are great pets if you know what your getting into. They are very mischievous. You can spend hours at a time watching them run around checking everything out and basically getting into trouble. If you are thinking of getting a ferret (or two cause they are more fun with more than one) check out Ferret Central and get all the information before you purchase one.
One of the newest members of our family is Sebastian the African Grey Parrot. I'm not much of a bird person myself but I have to say that this bird has grown on me. She (named before sexed) isn't very friendly at first but with enough attention her and I have become friends. The funniest story I love to tell people is of the latest sound she immitates. As many people know, parrots immitate sounds and words they hear. Well for the past year my roommate has been saying "Hello" to Sebastion everyday but the bird has yet to say the word. Yet, within two weeks of moving to the new house and being around the dogs, the bird now immitates perfectly my chihuahua's two distinctly different barks. This of course annoys my roommate to no end to hear the bird bark. Anyway, for more information on African greys check out the FAQ , Martinique's Page.
My favorite animals, as is most people probably, are Dogs. I've always loved dogs and always wanted one as a kid, but like many parents mine said no. So eventually when I moved out on my own, it was only a matter of time before my roommate/girlfriend talked me into a dog. That's when we met Ren. Yup, one day at the mall in the pet store there was this cute (at least she thought so) rat dog about as big as my foot. How can a guy say no when both the girl and the dog look at you with those puppy dog eyes. Well, as you may know, Ren is a chihuahua. Yes I own a chihuahua. But I gotta tell you that he is the funniest little shit around. He's a big chi if you can believe that, weiging in at almost 11 pounds. "Normal" chi's are less than 6. My parents think he is a mixed breed but as far as I know he's purebreed. Anyway, the only condition for getting the little guy was that I could name him Ren, which as you see is the case. And whenever I see "Ren and Stimpy" on tv and I look at the little guy I can't help but laugh. Anyway, here is the Chihuahua FAQ, as well as the Chihua-L e-mail listserv website if your interested. Contrary to popular belief, these guys can be downright hilarious.
As I said, I have two dogs. One day I decided to take a day off and my roommate and Iwent to the local Humane Society to look around. We came back with this babydoll of a beagle mix which we named Saddie. Saddie is the nicest dog you will find. Always wagging her tail and always looking for attention. I've always liked beagles and Saddie is basically a big beagle. We believe that she is mixed with something like a German Shepard or Doberman, but can't be sure. So if you are interested in Beagles, here is the Beagle FAQ and the Beagles on the Web site.
One dog I don't have yet but want is a Siberian Husky. I have always liked these dogs. At first just for their looks, but as I read more about them I began to love the instincts of the dogs as well. I've always been a cold weather person and one day hope to live in a snowy place and playing outside with a beautiful Husky. One can dream, can't one?

Unfortunatly, depending on how you look at it, I enjoy beer. I'd like to think I'm not an alcoholic as I only drink a beer or two a few times a week, and maybe once a week indulge in a few more, heh. Since my college days I have left behind the cheap "drink alot and get drunk" beers and taken up better tasteing "drink because it tastes good" beers. Here are some links to some of my personal favorite beers and some that are just cool links.
Once again you must indlge me while I rable about my favorite barely and hops mixes. We all know about the latest Ice craze that has swept the beer drinking community. Well I haven't let this slip by and have tasted a number of these. One of my favorite beers is Molson Ice. it's becoming more popular and you can find it in more bars but is still, at times depnding on where you are, hard to find. Besides, they have great commercials, heh. Some of my other favorites that I haven't found sites for yet are Fosters, Pete's Wicked Winter Brew, Pete's Wicked Octoberfest, Oxford Raspberry Wheat, and when I'm feeling domestic and want to drink alot and not get fat I drink Coors Lite or Michelob Lite.
Now here are some sites that have alot of links and talk more about Beer.
So drink up! And enjoy!

My real name is Mike Hackworth. Since Mike is a pretty common name my friends call me Hack. I've really grown attached to it and even have a personallized license plate on my truck. I am in no way related to someone I consider a hero, Colonel David Hackworth (U.S. Army, Ret.) tho I wish I were. He is a great man and a very outspoken warrior/journalist. I highly recommend his books "About Face" and "Hazardous Duty."
I graduated from Frostburg State University in May of 1993 with a B.S. degree in Accounting. I am currently working for a Medical Monitoring company, Medifacts. We deal in non-invasive heart monitoring. I am the equipment manager and I take care of three different types of equipment and various supporting supplies. I get to travel and train doctors and study coordinators about our equipment and I really enjoy that. A great company and a fun place to work. I hope to stay there for a long time.
If you have any links that you think would go good here please feel free to let me know and I'll add them as I have the time. Or if you would just like to write to me for whatever reason my address is: hack27@hotmail.com or mikila27@aol.com
I would like to thank Geocities for the free web site. That's right, this is a free web site. Also they have many many links to places that have well written instructions on how to write HTML.
Thanks to Kris Nosack who wrote the program "HTML Writer" which I used to build this page with. And of course the obligitory cudos to my parents for raising me in a sheltered child hood that made me into the guy I am today. Don't know if it's good or bad, but it's the guy I am today.
Thanks to Danny's Little Collection of Animated Gifs for his animated gifs that I used.
Thanks to Backgrounds by Carel Copyright&Copy; 1996, Carel Lyn Ashzryl for the bouckground I'm using.
