Deathgrip seems to have found a well deserved possible permanent spot in the basic set. Nothing against some of the other choices available for hosing green with a black card (Dystopia and such), but Deathgrip is one of the best. It's simplicity and power are almost unrivaled among color hosers...a near must in a sideboard for an all black deck. Sure, you can always try to bend the hosers to your advantage against any deck. As fun as those decks go, they are a little unreliable. Remember---if you're sure a spell will not harm you, don't waste the mana countering it...the spell could be a decoy for a deadlier spell. Here are some combos that just happen to work with Deathgrip:
