1/1
"If declared as an attacker, Joven's Ferrets gets +0/+2 until end of turn. Whenever Joven's Ferrets is blocked by a creature, tap that creature at end of combat and the creature does not untap during its controller's next untap phase."
A brief rundown of the card:
Joven's Ferrets is a very peculiar card. For only one green mana you can have yourself a 1/3 attacking weasel, that has a built in triggered Spore Cloud effect. Not bad at all. Joven's Ferrets are a great way to stir up an opponent's early blockers. Either you'll force them to block and have a creature out of action for 2 turns, or you'll deal a point of damage! Joven's Ferrets will survive against even the toughest weenies--White Kinghts and Erg Raiders stand aside. Even though I feel Joven's rodents need no justification to use by themselves, there are a few combos you can use with them:
This is a fairly simple combo that kinda simulates a Spore Cloud every turn (and we all love Spore Cloud, don't we? You should if you don't---it's awesome). All creatures that can block the weasels must due to Lure. The weasel conveniently won't deal nor receive damage thanks to Gaseous Form. Add a theft of Dreams to draw a card for each tapped creature your opponent controls, or use something on the line of Siren's Call to kill those tapped creatures. This combo was sent to us by Peppermint Pig.
If your opponent does block your ferrets, you can quickly destroy the tapped blocker with a Royal Assassin. If they don't block, maybe add Howl from Beyond or Endless Scream to your ferrets to make your opponent regret not just loosing a creature instead.
If you have a built up Joven's Ferrets, and your opponent's only valid blocker has Siezures on it, your opponent is in a loose-loose situation.
While Betrayal is on an opponent's creature, if they block the weasel, you'll get a card! Any time a creature with Betrayal is tapped, you get a card. Nifty for use with a built up ferret.
This works much like Siezures, excpet your opponent will have to take 2 damage every time the enchanted creature is tapped--they can't pay mana to prevent the damage! This is one of my favorite Licids.
