Remember to hit reload every day or else the new card may not load!
Not all of the old Card of the Day files are working right now. All of the old files should be running within one month. About 70-85% are working now. Sorry for the delays getting new cards done too. Things are getting back to normal rather well.
In this web page, I hope to present to you strategies, combos, and obscure uses for a new
Magic: The Gathering card every single day.
The Card of the Day is...
Trumpeting Armodon
Tempest Uncommon
3G Summon Elephant
3/3
"1G: Target creature blocks Trumpeting Armodon this turn if able."
A brief rundown of the card:
This is a fine example of one of the many recent additions to the growing numbers of elephants. Trumpeting Armodon is a fairly decent means of eliminating pesky creatures that don't block often (Spore Flower, Bounty Hunter...). Don't forget that this elephant's ability is pumpable. If your opponent has several little nuicances, you might be able to off them all with one Trumpeting Armodon and some extra mana--force your opponent to gang block! Trumpeting Armodon does have some other uses, here are some I've dabbled with:
- Binding Agony+Regeneration
Play Binding Agony on an opponent's creature that is kinda harmless. Also give this unsuspecting creature Regeneration. Keep attacking with your elephant, and forcing your opponent's creature to block. Your opponent will take 3 damage from the Binding Agony each time they must block the Trumpeting Armodon. Just in case the opponent's creature is likely to die in combat, try giving it Regeneration to keep it alive.
- Venom+Regeneration
Try putting both of these enchantments on your Trumpeting Armodon. The Venom effect will send almost every creature to the graveyard after combat. Just in case your elephant can't survive creature combat, use some sort of Regeneration-like effect to keep it around for more fun.
- Infinite Authority
If you can pull this off, and your opponent has a weenie deck, you're going to have one big Trumpeting Armodon really quick. Infinite Authority automatically destroys all creatures blocked by enchanted creature with a toughness of 3 or less AND puts a +1/+1 counter on enchanted creature for each destroyed. Not a bad combo with a creature whose blockers you get to choose.
- Elephant Graveyard
Ahh yes, Elephant Graveyard. For those of you that aren't familiar with this card, it's a land that you can tap to regenerate target Mammoth/Elephant. This oldie was cool enough as it was, but with all these neato new elephants coming out, Elephant Graveyard is even more valuable.
