The Card of the Day is....

Circle of Protection Black

1:Prevent all damage against you from one black source. If a source deals damage to you more than once in a turn, you may pay 1 each time to prevent the damage.

A brief rundown of the card:

I will not insult your knowledge of the game by mentioning all the creatures and spells you can prevent from harming you with this card. This is always an excellent sideboard card, but have you ever thought of making a COP Black deck? I feel there are enough cards that have harmfull black side effects, that we can easily circumvent with COP Black, to create a winning deck. Keep in mind, cards generally don't have self-detrimental effects unless they are very powerfull for what they cost to cast. It's probably not worth adding COP Black to a deck just to embellish the use of these cards, but how about adding them to you COP Black deck?

• Shadow Guildmage
  This can be a good late game-breaker, or a way to get a good jump start whittling your opponents life away.
• Hasraan Ogress
  A 3/2 creature for 2 mana? WOW! All you need to keep the Ogress damage to a minimum is your handy COP Black. I think of the Ogress as a poor man's Juzam Djinn (don't laugh). Think about it though. You could have 2 Ogresses for 4 mana. The Juzam costs 4. The Ogress is faster, and gives you more power per casting cost value. 2 Ogresses power=6, Juzam=5.
• Erg Raiders
  Kinda the same deal as above, with COP Black, this card becomes even more temping to use.
• Worms of the Earth
  Hmmmm...I could ramble on forever as to how to use this to your advantage. Maybe think Armageddon?
• Ashes to Ashes
  Removing 2 creatures FROM THE GAME is pretty incredible even at the cost of 5 points. Brushing off that damage will frustrate any opponent.
• Lord of the Pit/Minion of Leshrac
  COP Black makes these cards lethal. Either one of these is a game breaker in most situations.
• Pestilence/Withering Wisps + 1 Protection from Black creature
  I've seen this win quite a few games. Good combo by itself, but incredible with COP Black. Especially beacuse most of your Protection from Black creatures are white (Death Speakers, White Knight, the Orders), but let us not forget Cemetary Gate!
