Legacy's Allure
Tempest Uncommon
UU Enchantment
"During your upkeep, you may put a treasure counter on Legacy's Allure.
Sacrifice Legacy's Allure: Permanently gain control of target creature with power no greater than the number of treasure counters on Legacy's Allure."
A brief rundown of the card:
Legacy's Allure is an interesting twist on the blue staple Control Magic. This is surely the cheapest means of stealing creatures, yet it's not the fastest by any means. This enchantment does present a "fear factor" --- your opponent may hesititate to summon any creatures for fear of loosing them (great if they are using no enchantment removal). Just loading up your deck with tons of counter spells and a few Legacy's Allure can eventually defeat many decks (after an hour of play or so usually). Here are some cards that can help Legacy's Allure work faster and be able to snare better creatures:
- Shrink
This often forgotten spell can have some really wierd uses. -5/-0 for one green is really cool---especially when using Legacy's Allure. Make your opponent's Archangel 0/5 for a turn with Shrink, then play Legacy's Allure immediatly afterward. Sacrifice the enchantment the same turn to steal the angel. 0 power = 0 counters needed. Cheap + unexpected!
- Weakstone+Skull of Orm
Weakstone makes all attacking creatures -1/-0. It's not the most effective power reduction tool against one creature, but it will slightly chop down all aggressors consistantly. You're going to need all the mass power-reduction you can get when you keep returning Legacy's Allure to your hand and playing/sacrificing it again and again thanks to Skull of Orm.
- Titania's Song/Xenic Poltergiest/Animate Artifact
Turn Legacy's Allure into a Steal Artifact when needed with any of the strange means available to turn artifacts into creatures. Really good combo to steal cheap artifacts like Ivory Tower.
