In this web page, I hope to present to you strategies, combos, and obscure uses for a new Magic: The Gathering card every single day.

The Card of the Day is...

Plated Rootwalla

Exodus Common
4G Summon Lizard

3/3
"2G: Plated Rootwalla gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Play this ability only once each turn."

You can get bigger creatures for less mana than Plated Rootwalla, yet getting one as potentially large as Plated Rootwalla can be as potentially soon as Plated Rootwalla is tough to do especially in type 2 play. A Durkwood Boars can never help themselves past 4/4, and you can't usually get a 6/6 Johtull Wurm out until you have 6 mana available---you can have yourself a 6/6 lizard with only 5 mana available (not immediatly of course). Possibly a more sinister method of play with Plated Rootwalla is the element of surprise. There are many ways to sneak extra mana out of nowhere and pump up a Plated Rootwalla for a surprise attack/block. It's almost like having an expensive and resuable Giant Growth built right in! Here are some ideas to try with this surprising addition to the lizard family: (I hope there's more---lizard decks---cool!)
