Black has always had some very interesting huge creatures. Most of them have some sort of radical upkeep or downside that makes them rather chancy to play with. Even though I've won many games thanks to such beasties as Demonic Hordes and Lord of the Pit, they've lost me a few games too. Pit Spawn's upkeep is rather mild compared to many big black creatures--making it a wise choice as a possible "resident big-guy" in a few of your decks. Sure, 4BBB is a lot of mana, but you actually get alot with Pit Spawn. No matter how I try to extoll the virtues of Pit Spawn, I know there are some "I only play with power cards" people out there that will never touch Pit Spawn just because of it's casting cost. For all the rest of you out there that realize this thing is a real crippler (I still wouldn't use more than two unless you build a Pit Spawn deck--that's cool), here are some most foul things to try with a 6/4, first striking beast with a really neat ability:
