The Card of the Day is....

Sindbad

1/1 Tap: Draw a card. If it is not a land, discard it.

A brief rundown of the card:

Sindbad? I first thought "well, I only get a card in my hand about 1 out of every 3 turns, and the rest of the time he's making me discard needed spells" and I never used him. I was wrong! True, he's not for every deck, but there are many ways we can use this powerful card drawing utility to simulate the effect of (dare I say) Land Tax with a little work. Here are some spiffy combos to use with Sindbad:

• Sylvan Library
  Sick of looking at the same 2 land cards and only 1 new card after a few turns of using the Library? Have Sindbad check out a few lands from the Library by putting the lands on top and immediatly drawing them.
• Field of Dreams
  Sindbad always knows when to dig for land and when not to with the handy Field of Dreams. Great if you want to put ceratin cards in your graveyard. Have you ever thought "Say, there's that Polar Kraken I've been waiting to animate! All I need to do is put him in my graveyard...but I don't know how."?
• Orcish Spy/Visions/Diabolic Visions/Orcish Librarian...
  Just like Field of Dreams, but require just a little more effort. There are many more like these.
• Library of Leng
  Did Sindbad check out the wrong card? Not to worry at the Library of Leng. Sindbad can put that card back on top of the Library, and try again later.
• Land's Edge
  Never thought of Sindbad as a mean killing machine, did you? Convert those lands into 2 points of damage.
• Lodestone Bauble
  Good if you have some kind of land sacrificing upkeep/cost to pay... such as Army Ants, Psycic Vortex, or Wood Elemental(ooohh).
