The Card of the Day is...
Aisling Leprechaun
Legends Common
G Summon Faerie
1/1
"Whenever Aisling Leprechaun blocks or is blocked by a creature, that creature becomes green."
How silly. I probably should have reviewed this card on St. Patrick's day. Help spread the green around with Aisling Leprechaun. Why should you care about turning your opponent's creatures green? Read on:
- Circle of Protection: Green
Every creature you manage to turn green can't harm you if you have but one spare mana and a COP: Green.
- Lure+Regeneration
Lure will force all of your opponent's non-wall creatures to block Aisling Leprechaun every time he attacks. Seeing as he's only 1/1, Regeneration is in order to help keep him around to paint the town green many times.
- Cerulean Wyvern
There is one protection from green creature in all of Magic, and it's a pretty good card. For 4U you can have a protection from green 3/3 flyer. Not bad by itself, but extra deadly if you're able to turn some of your opponent's creatures green.
- Green Ward
You can have an invunerable attacker by simply putting Green Ward on Aisling Leprechaun. As soon as something blocks the leprechaun, the blocker turns green--way before damage is applied. By the time damage is dealt, the damage the blocker deals to Aisling Leprechaun is green and negated thanks to Green Ward.
- Green Scarab
The Ice Age scarabs are really neat, but unreliable (Target creature gets +2/+2 as long as any opponent controls any green cards. That creature cannot be blocked by green creatures.) Aisling Leprechaun is a great way of helping ensure your opponent controls green cards.
- Homarid Shaman
This odd Fallen Empires card allows you to tap green creatures. Need I say more?
- Mind Harness
This awesome, cheap version of Control Magic only works on green or red creatures. Yada yada yada.
