Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!
The Card of the Day is....
Circle of Protection: Green
1W Enchantment
1: Prevent all damage to you from a green source. Treat further
damage from that source normally.
A brief rundown of the card:
I'm not here to tell you how you can save yourself from Unyaro
Bee Sting or a Berserked Feral Thallid, but I will bring up a few
uses for COP Green you might not have thought of. True, you won't
see most of these combos in a heated tournament enviroment, but try making
a COP Green deck with some of these ideas--and add a few of your own.
I'm not even going to get into combos with COP Green and Slight of Mind or
Mind Bend.
- Splintering Wind
Splinter away at your opponent or their creatures. Fear not the
one point of damage to yourself, you have COP Green. Get a system
going with making tokens/having them blow up...like every other turn or so
make 2, and then don't pay their upkeep 2 turns later (attack once), and
then brush off their damage when they die. This way you don't have to worry about
the splinters killing each other when you don't pay one's upkeep. It keeps
the math simple.
- Cyclone
Did you forget about Cyclone? Try Cyclone/COP Green as a replacement
for Forsaken Wastes. I think you will like the results.
- Nettletooth Djinn/Granger Guildmage
Only saving you 1 point of damage each turn/use might not seem like much, but COP Green
adds to these cards play value greatly.
- Force of Nature
This combos effectively changes Force of Nature's upkeep from GGGG
to 1.
- Ifh-Biff Efreet/Hurricane
Pummel your opponent with these mass-damage spells without fear.
