Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!
In this web page, I hope to present to you strategies, combos, and obscure uses for a new
Magic the Gathering card every single day.
The Card of the Day is....
Peace Talks
1W Sorcery
During this turn and the next one, players cannot declare an attack
and cannot play spells or abilities that target any permanent or player.
A brief rundown of the card:
It's almost like a poor man's Time Walk. With all the attention
Abeyance has been getting, I'm suprised I don't see Peace Talks
show up in many more tournaments. It's very similar. Need an
extra turn to dig up a Counterspell or Disenchant? Use Peace Talks
to delay that 10 point Fireball a turn or two. Here are some other
uses for Peace Talks:
- Nettling Imp/Norrit
Force their creatures to attack during the Peace Talks, and watch them
get cast into the graveyard for disrupting negotiations.
- Total War
Eliminate your opponents entire army with this combo. Force them to all
attack with Total War the turn after Peace Talks start up.
- Boiling Blood
Don't need the mass-destruction of Total War? Do you need to keep
a few of your opponent's creatures around (Siesures/Maddening Wind)?
Do you want to draw a card? Just make your opponent's most fearsome die of bi-polar disorder
when you give it conflicting orders.
- Wrath of God/Armageddon/Nevinyrral's Disk...
Remember, these spells don't target anything! Use your cheesy mass-destruction
spells without fear of most forms of reprocussion.
