The Card of the Day is....

Fungal Bloom

GG: Put a spore token on target Fungus.

A brief rundown of the card:

Most players scoff at this card. Not only is it slow (all Fungi need 3 tokens to do their thing), but you must play with a Fungus deck for this card to be anywhere near effective. Have you ever thought about making a Thallid deck? All a Thallid deck needs is some backup support for permanent disposal, and you have a good deck! Let's look at what all you can do with your spore tokens:

• Spore Flower
  This reusable Fog has stalled many opponents for dozens of turns at a time. Just pay GGGG and put 2 tokens on Spore Flower each turn. You'll have 3 tokens on Spore Flower when your opponent's turn rolls around--then fog away. As long as you can keep the little Spore Flower around, creatures will not harm you.
• Feral Thallid
  Do not underestimate the power to regenerate a creature for no mana. Once you pile some counters on Feral Thallid, he'll probably be around for quite a while.
• Thorn Thallid
  Green direct damage! Remember--4 Wild Growths on a Forest being constantly tapped and untapped by an attacking-Maze of Ithed Ley Druid can pile unlimited counters on your Thorn Thallid!
• Thallid/Thallid Devourer
  Ever notice in your mono green deck you have tons of mana at the end of your opponent's turn? Convert that mana into 1/1 creatures that can attack, block, be sacrificed to something like Alter of Bone or Skull Catapult, or be sacrificed to an Elvish Farmer for 2 life each! Don't forget the Devourer likes to nibble on his offspring too. Trading a 1/1 creature to give another +1/+2 isn't bad.
