Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!

The Card of the Day is....
Seizures
1B Enchant Creature
Whenever target creature becomes tapped, that creature's controller pays 3 or Seizures deals 3 damage to him or her.
A brief rundown of the card:
It is often even an experienced player will overlook such a cruel card as Seizures. Most players only see it as conditional damage on a local enchantment (either one of those to risky to use in any kind of tournament deck). But I am here to preach the values of Seizures. If nothing else, the ability to tap one of their creatures to eat up 3 of their mana every turn is pretty cool. Do not look upon this card as conditional and chancy--look at it as 3 damage every turn to your opponent (at least!)--with the help of one one or more of the following:
- Icy Manipulator/Flood
These are the most mana+card efficient means of tapping a creature every turn (that I can think of).
- Twiddle/Jolt
Sneak these interrupts out whenever your opponent is tapped out of mana to ensure you will deal 3 damage.
- Crown of the Ages/Enchantment Alteration
Tapping just one creature once per turn is often not good enough or fast enough to win. You can grately increase the Siezures on your opponents creatures by tapping one with Seizures, then moving the enchantment to another creature with the Crown or Enchantment Alteration----remember the enchantment itself doesn't tap along with the creatures! Every time you move Siezures to an untapped creature, you can tap the creature immediatly for 3 more damage (or mana).
- Varchild's War-Riders
Yes, you read that correctly. You can use Varchild's War-Riders to ensure your opponent will have creatures in play to put Seizures upon.
- Maze of Ith+Ley Druid+Reverse Damage
Hold on to your seats--here comes an irritating infinite combo!
Put Seizures on your own Ley Druid (or Juniper Order Druid). Attack with the Druid, and do not pay 3 mana to prevent the damage. Tap the Ley Druid to untap the Maze of Ith--you can (and must) do this during combat. Tap the Maze of Ith to untap the Druid--he is still attacking. Tap the Druid to untap the Maze........repeat until your opponent threatens you (or 10 times in a sanctioned tourney) and follow up with a huge Reverse Damage! I have found this to be the second easiest infinite combo to pull off next to some of the Enduring Renewal ones.
