Magic the Gathering card every single day.
The Card of the Day is....
Night Soil
GG Enchantment
1, Remove two target creature cards from any graveyard from the game: Put a Saproling token into play under your control. Treat this token as a 1/1 green creature.
A brief rundown of the card:
I've noticed latley there is more of a call for an effective means of thinning out an opponent's graveyard. With all the graveyard filling Weatherlight based decks floating around now, I feel Night Soil will start getting some more attention soon. This card is excellent defense against several popular deck styles----Re-animator, Ertog, Browse, and Tolarian Serpent decks all cringe at the sight of Night Soil. Don't forget, you must take both creatures out of the same graveyard, and tokens don't stay in the graveyard. Let's take a look at a few other reasons to use Night Soil:
- Elvish Farmer
Paying 1 to yank two creatures out of someones graveyard and gain 2 life ain't to bad. How convenient, the Farmer farms fungus too.
- Thallid Devourer
Thallid Devourer doesn't care if he eats leftovers. The recycled Saprolings made from dead creatures taste just as good as the tokens he makes.
- Timetwister/Diminishing Returns
I know this may be considered sacriledge to mention any green Fallen Empire card and Timetwister together in the same sentence, but they do compliment each other well. Sift out all of your opponent's creatures away from their graveyard with Night Soil. Later, you will not have to worry about giving your opponent a hand full of his good creatures when you do the Timetwister.
