The Card of the Day is....
Winds of Rath
3WW Sorcery
Destroy all creatures with no enchantments on them. Those creatures cannot be regenerated this turn.
A brief rundown of the card:
Funny how Winds of Rath kinda sounds like Wrath of God? I admit, the fact that Wrath of God is one mana cheaper can make/break games, but if you're able to overcome this slight downfall, I feel I can show you a few tricks to use:
- Crown of the Ages/Enchantment Alteration
Simply enough, make sure all the enchantments in play are on your favorite creatures when you let the Winds of Rath come though town.
- All Licids
If you haven't ran into the new creatures in Tempest called Licids, you gotta see them soon. they are all small creatures that can loose their "creature status" and become a local enchantment of some sort---examples of ones I've seen are Wonderlust and Lance abilities. You can pay a little mana to make the local enchantment turn back into a small creature any time later. Licids are just perfect for avoiding any type of mass creature destruction this way.
- Holy Armor/Kithkin Armor/Hero's Resolve
These are just a few of many great cheap white enchantments you can place on your cheap white creatures right before you let loose your slighly costly Winds of Rath.
