Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!

The Card of the Day is....
Orim, Samite Healer
1WW Summon Legend
1/3 Orim, Samite Healer counts as a Cleric. Tap: Prevent up to 3 damage to any creature or player.
A brief rundown of the card:
When couldn't use you a card like Orim? This legend will effectively nullify one Lightning Bolt a turn for you. The mistakes you can force an opponent to make with this card in play on your side are infinite. Combine Orim with other combat orientated spells (Tawnos' Weaponry/Giant Growth...) to confuse and bewilder your opponent into screwing up every attack/block. You can quickly modify the power/toughness of an attacker in a dangerous way and not have to fret about little things like Lightning Bolts when you do (who cares if Blood Lust lowers your creatures toughness by 4? You can still brush off a Bolt with Orim!!) Let's look at a few of the more obvious uses for Orim:
- Psionic Entity
This blue whacky creature is pretty cool is he just didn't kill himself when he zaps something. Have Orim, Samite Healer prevent the damage that Hapless, Psionic Entity will do to himself.
- Goblin Tinkerer
Your Goblin can tinker with Pauper's Cages and Jalum Tomes all he wants with Orim to heal his wounds.
- Orich Cannoneers/Orcish Catapult
These cards are killers if you can find a way to prevent the Orc's damage to you. Orim does a very good job.
- Wandering Mage
Why else would the first thing Orim, Samite Healer say--"Orim, Samite Healer counts as a cleric"? It is obvious we all should be using Wandering Mage to protect Orim, while Orim heals other creatures (maybe Wandering Mage?)
