Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!
Remember to hit reload every day or else the new card may not load!
In this web page, I hope to present to you strategies, combos, and obscure uses for a new
Magic the Gathering card every single day.
The Card of the Day is....
Mana Clash
R Sorcery
You and target opponent each flip a coin. Mana Clash deals 1 damage to each player whose coin comes up tails. Repeat this process until both players' coins come up heads at the same time.
A brief rundown of the card:
Mana Clash is one of the sneakiest cards in Magic. It is almost never countered, and has potential to do a ton of damage. If you play with the odds, there are 4 possibilties when flipping--HH, TT, HT, TH-----there is only a one in 4 chance heads heads will show up in any given flip. Odds are also your opponent will flip tails twice out of those 4 flips. Odds are you will flip tails twice also. Would adding a spell that only costs one red mana be worth adding to your deck to do (on average) 2 damage to your opponent? If you are planning on loading a deck up with bolts and directing most of your direct damage to your opponent, I feel you should give Mana Clash a chance. This might not be the most mana-efficient damage in type 1 play, but it's pretty good in type 2. I'm not even going to mention how many times I've seen a Mana Clash flipping spree get out of control and get up to around 8 damage each. Here are a few cards to try using to get the most out of Mana Clash:
- Circle of Protection: Red
Did you know that you can prevent all damage from one Mana Clash to yourself with just one usage of a Circle of Protection? It doesn't matter how many times you flip tails, you will only need to use the COP once.
- Fork
Go on a flipping binge by Forking Mana Clash. You may be surprised how much damage can be dished out by using this combo.
- Desperite Gambit
Throw caution to the wind by going for double or nothing. If you find yourself building all your decks around this theme, and using Game of Chaos often, maybe you should check into Gamblers Anonymous.
