Chris' Magic: The Gathering Card of the Day!
October 25, 1997
The Card of the Day is....
Stench of Evil
Ice Age Uncommon
2BB Sorcery
Destroy all plains. Stench of Evil deals 1 damage to each player for each plains he or she controls that is destroyed in this way. Each player may pay 2 for each 1 damage he or she wishes to prevent from Stench of Evil.
A brief rundown of the card:
Stench of Evil is one of the best color hosers around. Along with Dystopia, you can easily build a deck bent around these big black destructive spells--if you use some of the following to help make sure your opponent will have plains in play (or to get more out of Stench of Evil):
- Magical Hack
Simply Hack Stench of Evil to whatever land type you need.
- Phantasmal Terrain/Mystic Compass
These cards are good if you only wish to remove choice lands.
- Illusionary Terrain
This is by far the simplest way to make a bunch of plains out of nowhere.
- Dingus Egg
Make your opponent take up to 3 damage per plain destroyed.
