The Card of the Day is...

Homarid Spawning Bed

1UU: Sacrifice a blue creature to put X Camarid tokens into play, where X is the casting cost of the sacrificed creature. Treat these creatures as 1/1 blue creatures.

A brief rundown of the card:

One of the silliest yet potentialy dangerous cards to come out of Fallen Empires, Homarid Spawning Bed is not for every deck. This highly specialized card can have a killer deck built around it, but in most enviroments the Spawning Bed isn't reliable enough without alot of effort. Here are a few cards you could try using in your Homarid Spawning Bed deck:

• Polar Kraken
  I will list several more big blue candidates for slaughter later, but Polar Kraken gets top billing in combos with the Spawning Bed. An immediate permanet advantage of net +10 is awe inspiring. The only trouble is getting your big blue beastie into play:
• Animate Dead/Dance of the Dead/Necromancy...
  Quickly fill your graveyard with any old hefty blue creature, then bring it into play for a pittance of mana with your favorite animate dead creature card. This will allow you to make lots of little lobsters early in the game.
• Deep Spawn/Marjan/Sea Serpent/Taniwha...
  These are some of the more "useful" big blue creatures. Nothing against Deep Spawn, but the rest are of limited use on thier own.
• Sunken City
  Make all of you Camarids 2/2 from the get go with Sunken City. True the upkeep is a headache, but it's more card efficient than Slight of Minding a Bad Moon or something!
• Sword of the Ages
  Translate a creature's casting cost into Camarids, then transfer the Camarids into direct damage with Sword of the Ages. That's a point of damage each...pretty darn good.
