Sandstorm

Sandstorm deals 1 damage to each attacking creature.

A brief rundown of the card:

Sandstorm often gets overlooked not because it's a bad card, but it's not flashy or exotic. That's kinda sad because it's one of the best early game defensive cards around. Worried about Ball Lightnings or Blood Lusted {almost anything} stomping down on you in the first few turns? Try Sandstorm. Pump Knights giving you problems? Sandstorm is your answer. Hardly any creatures have protection from green, and Sandstorm is not a targeted effect. If Autumn Willow, Deadly Insect, and a Jolrael's Centaur would all attack you at once, you could whack all of them for a point of damage with Sandstorm! Here are a few cards that work well in the same deck as Sandstorm:

• Pyroclasm
  Using Pyroclasm and Sandstorm together to cheaply deal different levels of damage to a number of creatures is a great way to defend against almost all weenie decks.
• Varchild's War-Riders
  Survivor tokens can't stand sand. I have found opponent's often let Survivor tokens accumulate on thier side for a few turns before attacking with all of them. Sandstorm will whisk them all away--probably leaving your opponent open for attack.
• Sawtooth Ogre/Elite Javelineer
  Use Sandstorm with any creature that deals additional damage to suprise your opponent by killing their bigger attackers. With Sandstorm, old Sawtooth Ogre will take out an Ernham Djinn--the Elite Javelineers could kill a Craw Wurm.
