The Card of the Day is...
Aggression
Ice Age Uncommon
2R Enchantment
"Target non-wall creature gains first strike and trample. At the end of its controller's turn, destroy that creature if it did not attack that turn."
A brief rundown of the card:
Giving out first strike and trample with but one enchantment is very handy. Overcoming Aggression's small shortcoming is not a problem--especially if you use any of these fine cards with Aggression:
- Juggernaut
You have to attack with Juggernaut every turn anyway, why not make it an angry Juggernaut by placing Aggression upon it? A 5/3 trampling first striker is nasty.
- Eron the Relentless
Eron is a perfect candidate for Aggression. Just in case Eron finds himself attacking when he faces big blockers, save mana to regenerate him. It's really hard to stop 5 points of first strike damage.
- Bloodrock Cyclops
Bloodrock Cyclops is a heavy hitter for a medium costing red creature. Since he's attacking every turn, give him Aggression to help him mix things up with opponent's creatures.
- Primordial Ooze
If you think you can handle Primordial Ooze, Aggression can help it overcome "mid-game crisis" with first strike. The Ooze tends to get oversized by blockers after a few turns of growing--opponent's usually try to build up enough defense to off it before it gets out of hand. Aggression makes this task much harder for your opponent.
- Halls of Mist/Festival/Pacifism...
Play Aggression on an opponent's creature! If used correctly, Aggression will kill any creature. Use any of the above means to prevent creatures from attacking, then watch your opponent's creature die because it can't attack you. Aggression is a great way to dispose of irritating creatures that don't attack as a stand alone function--like Royal Assassins or Spore Flowers (assuming you have some kind of blockers).
