The Card of the Day is...
Terror

"Bury target nonartifact, nonblack creature."
A brief rundown of the card:
What kind of creature pests can we easily dispose of with Terror? Oh, say Ernham Djinn, Serendib Efreet, Serra Angel...need I go on? Terror is one of the most cost efficient creature removal cards around. Sure, it costs a little more than Swords to Plowshares and it doesn't work on every creature, but you don't have to worry about giving your opponent life and there are a few instances I'd rather have an opponent's creature in their graveyard than removed from the game (Ashen Powder, Bone Dancer...). Here are a few ways to get the most out of the classic card Terror:
- Bosium Strip
Two Terrors are always better than one. Double the use of Terror with Bosium Strip. Just in case your opponent fields two nasty creatures early in a duel, you can off them both with Bosium Strip and Terror for very little mana. Remember, is you kill two creatures with one card, you got an immediate card advantage---a very good thing these days.
- Mind Bend/Chaoslace/Thoughtlace/Purelace/Lifelace...
Is your opponent playing with black too? Don't fret...you can turn any card into a different color with any of the laces, or with Mind Bend. Nothings funnier than Terroring a blue Hypnotic Specter (well, maybe Terroring a white Juzan Djinn--hahaha).
- Lhurgoyf
Whack an opponent's creature and make your Lhurgoyf bigger in the process. There's another reason Terror can be better than Swords to Plowshares.
- Animate Dead/Dance of the Dead/Necromancy...
Do you like one of the creatures your opponent has in play? Terror it to the graveyard, then bring it into play on your side with any of the fine animate dead creature spells. This is a great defense against Ernham Djinn/Armageddon decks.
