The Card of the Day is...
Undo
Visions Common
1UU Sorcery
"Return two target creatures to owner's hand."
A brief rundown of the card:
By itself, Undo is a fair defensive card. It will effectively slow down an opponent's creatures several turns (assuming they do have summoning sickness and they can't play both in the same turn.) Example: if my opponent plays a Bull Elephant on the fourth turn and a Ernham Djinn on the fifth, a timely Undo upon our sixth turn would keep the elephant from attacking until turn 8, and the djinn couldn't attack until turn 9! If your deck needs a little extra time to "set itself up", try Undo--it's pretty good. Here are a few combos to try with Undo:
- Heartwood Giant+Harvest Wurm
Heartwood Giant is a Tempest creature that allows you to tap it to sacrifice a forest to deal 2 points of damage to any player. If you could use those forests back, try Harvest Wurms to get them back to your hand (and a 3/2 creature to boot). If you need yet more forests (and who couldn't), Undo some Harvest Wurms and let loose with your Heartwood Giant yet some more. There's a reason green is lacking in direct damage--it's too deadly. Even though most methods of green direct damage aren't very efficient, this one is pretty darn good--it's like Land's Edge with a few creatures. This fine combo comes to us from Steven Taylor.
- Legerdemain/Juxtapose/Guantlets of Chaos
Switch creatures around to your heart's content with any of these silly swapping spells. After your opponent has a few of your creatures in play on their side, send them back to your hand with Undo! Remember, you own the cards, your opponent just temporarily controls them.
- Triskelion/Tetravus/Nekrataal
All of these creatures really need to be cast multiple times to get the most out of them. Undo can easily help you accomplish this. What is your deck lacking? Direct damage? Flying creatures? Creature disposal? The above creatures and Undo can help you out.
- Consuming Ferocity/Krovikan Plague
There's a few cards you don't see too much of. They're both have pretty cool abilities for all the more they cost, but they both have a nasty habit of killing the creature you place them upon. Simply send the creatures enchanted with Consuming Ferocity or Krovikan Plague back to your hand right before they die. Did everyone forget about Krovikan Plague? It's a Fire Whip cantrip!
