The Card of the Day is...
Angry Mob
The Dark, 4th Edition, 5th Edition Uncommon
2WW Summon Mob
2/2
Trample
"During your turn, Angry Mob has power and toughness each equal to 2 plus the number of swamps all opponents control. During other turns, Angry Mob has power and toughness each equal to 2."
A brief rundown of the card:
Who couldn't love a horde of ticked off peasants? I can see them now--wearing overalls, sporting pitchforks, and carrying torches. The more bad things they face, the meaner they get. If you really desire white tramplers, Angry Mob is tops. There are quite a few means of enticing Angry Mob, here are some of the better ones:
- Blanket of Night
This is the simplest means of ensuring your opponent will have tons of swamps. As a side effect, your opponent may hesitate to play lands--slowing them down also.
- Evil Presence
Maybe not as effective as Blanket of Night, but it is a third the casting cost. A first turn Evil Presence will often stunt an opponent for a turn early on--not a bad thing for one single black mana.
- Illusionary Terrain
This can be as effective as Blanket of Night in swamp making if it's in the right hands. Also very handy if black doesn't have a part in your game.
- Blessing
Blessing is pretty handy on all of those banding and first strike weenies, but it's really cool on a trampler!
