The Card of the Day is...
Goblin Snowman
Ice Age Uncommon {In celebration of Christmas}
3R Summon Goblins
1/1
"When blocking, Goblin Snowman neither deals nor receives damage in combat.
T: Goblin Snowman deals 1 damage to target creature it blocks."
A brief rundown of the card:
I love Goblin Snowman. It's almost like a much needed red Wall of Shadows. Don't let your Goblin Snowman block tramplers though, all the damage will spill right on to you! Goblin Snowman is great in a deck without any combos used with it--but here's a few ideas to make your Goblin Snowman even more powerful:
- Goblin Wizard
This neat card from The Dark allows you to tap him to place a Goblin directly into play. This is sometimes not needed by the time you can get the Goblin Wizard into play--he's not cheap and most goblins cost very little. He is very handy helping you avoid the casting cost of Goblin Snowman and Goblin Mutant--they both cost 4 mana.
- Flight...
A flying blocker that almost can't be killed is handy in almost every game. Blow the dust off Flight and try it on the Snowman.
- Goblin Recruiter
The Goblin Recruiter is great for scrounging up any goblin, but the Goblin Snowman is one of the more handy ones around. You'll be able to place the Snowman in your library just where you will need it!
- Goblin Grenade...
There are so many cards that work with goblins, I'm not going to mention them all here tonight. Goblin Grenade is considered by many to be the best. Goblin King is certainly worth mentioning too.
