3WRG Summon Legend
5/4
"As long as Johan does not attack and is untapped, attacking does not cause creatures you control to tap."
A brief rundown of the card:
Hmmmm, Fervor is a pretty hot card these days. 5/4 creatures are always in demand too. Why not try Johan in a white/red/green deck? The possibilities are endless--white's defense along with red's awesome direct damage and green's creatures. Sounds like a winner to me. With all the new excuses to use a multi-color deck (Reflecting Pool, Undiscovered Paradise...), a deck that can focus around Johan isn't too hard to make. Maybe load up the deck with lots of other nasty white/red/green gold cards like Stangg and Energy Bolt. Johan is very versatile--good for some hefty damage if need be, and also great for letting all of your creatures attack AND still be able to block. Here are some of the cards that work well with Johan:
Apes of Rath
Zounds! 5/4 for a paltry 2GG is rude--except the apes are kinda lazy and won't untap the turn after you attack with them. Johan knows just what to say to encourage the Apes of Rath into attacking every turn.
Marjan
The default Homelands big blue nasty isn't used very often even though he's 8/8 for 7 mana, and he doesn't come into play tapped --a key issue when considering Johan. Normally you must sacrifice a creature and some mana to untap Marjan--making him fairly expensive to use. If Johan's in play, you can hammer away at your opponent (if they have islands in play). Pity, I thought Marjan was pretty cool on it's own myself--but then again I somehow insist on using Giant Slugs in my one deck. Hey--Giant Slug's pumpable!
Colossus of Sardia
Oh the mana you can save yourself with Johan. Not that you usually have to pay the 9 mana many times to untap the Colossus to win most games, but if you have to--Johan could be a life saver.
Lead Golem/Spectral Bears/Soldevi Golem/Black Carriage/Goblin Rock Sled/Brass Man
Here's a few more creatures whose hinderance is negated with the presence of Johan. I'll admit, a Lead Golem that doesn't tap to attack doesn't impress me much, but Black Carriage and the bears + golem not tapping is a neat idea.
