"Forsaken by a generation of idiots that just didn't care." Acid Rain by Dirty Rotten Ibeciles
The Card of the Day is...
Acid Rain
Legends Rare
3U Sorcery
"Destroys all forests in play."
Since I was just listening to that song...Acid Rain by DRI, I thought I'd review the card by the same name. Even though Acid Rain works the same as such moderatly priced cards as Flashfires and Boil, Acid Rain is out of print Legends, making it a choice comodity. I've never owned one, but I've used Acid Rain many a time in some online/computer decks. It does have one radical advantage over the "other color" counterparts like Boil, Acid Rain is the same color as the popular word changing spells that exist...not forcing you to add another color (blue) to your deck if the mass land destruction is going to be the backbone of the deck. Speaking of those blue spells, here are some combos to use with the always neat to see Acid Rain:
- Magical Hack
Simply change the word "forest" to whatever your opponent has most of with Magical Hack. It's a great combo that helps win many games.
- Thelonite Monk
For the cost of a creature a piece, the monk can turn lands into forests. Saprolings work well for monk cannon fodder.
- Gaea's Liege
This is an easier method of turning many opponent's lands into forests than the monk, but your Acid Rain will probably accidently kill the liege along with all forests in play. Be careful with this combo.
