During the days leading up to the Battle of Prajjor's Field, the Bearers of Akasha were hard-pressed in their attempts to stop the pending conflict between Thera and Throal. During their search, they met up with the t'skrang Alarian who was investigating related events on behalf of Jarol Damris, the noted Syrtis merchant. Alarian uncovered a link between the death of the king and her own investigation. That link, of course, was the suppossed Questor of Garlen Denjada whose true identity was Jada Denairastas of Iopos.
Vardin Silvertongue
Sanjuro of House Syrtis and his allies--
The troll Rathim Himshadi's ledgers were merely a record of much of what we knew. The messages, the physical papers with which this impostor contacted the troll seem to have been magically erased. These papers, which once held script in the impostor's hand are now blank, but I leave them with you anyway. It may be that you can use them, it may be that they are useless. I know not.
The troll had a windling working for him. If you knew him, Garnel, since he claimed to be of your own village, I send my condolences. He was (and you may not want your windling to hear this) bound, surgically dismembered and dissected, shredded, beheaded. At several days old, it was not a charming sight. If you want to give his remains a proper burial, whatever some orc hasn't found and dropped into his hurlg that is, his hole in the wall is at the Gleeful Farmer.
The impostor has been seen to hold another form--that of a Questor of Garlen called Denjada. My next move is to go to where this windling--his name was Rigban Mentigalish, Garnel--last reported her as being. I will write you again in a day's time, since I do not know when you will return. If no letter arrives, assume that I have shared Rigsy's--Rigban's--fate, as I now am sharing his last actions.
--Alarian of House Syrtis
PS -- Sanjuro, I have a question I've been meaning to ask of you, almost ever since we met, except we've never seemed to have time alone enough to speak. And I'm not sure it's the others' place to get involved:
Have you, in all your travels, heard anything of t'skrang being drowned in their very beds in the Cliff City?
