Lavrup Green-tongued
My true Name is Lavrup Spacejumper Stoneclaws. "Green-tongued" is my pen name. I picked it up while working as a scribe in Travar; the poorer of us (and I was quite destitute) had to use a certain type of vegetable ink while stained everything it touched a rather pleasant green. I wrote so much, licking the nib of my only quill after every paragraph, that my tongue seemed to be permanently stained. Of course, that stain has long faded, but the nickname remains.
I was born in the Eastern Twilight Peaks. My father was a proud sky raider of the Stoneclaws trollmoot, and my mother was a lowland troll taken as a newot in raid. She fell in love with my father because of his noble morals, and he fell in love with her because of her kind nature. She taught me reading, writing, and etiquette; my father taught me the way of the sky raider.
I spent my formative years on the Stoneclaws ship the Windtalon, commanded by the great Yerrik Stoneclaws and then by Kerththale Stoneclaws. Although I was thin, I was tall for a troll and a good fighter. Nevertheless, I did not fit in well with my peers, who yearned for war with the Bloodlores. I suppose it was my mother's blood.
When the dwarves from Throal would occasionally visit, I would speak to them in the feasthall, asking about the Great Library and the heroes who passed theough Bartertown. One of these dwarves was an employee of Merrox, and eventually he offered to take me to Throal and train as a scribe. I accepted, and left the moot on good terms with my family and my brothers.
Alas, on our journey to the dwarf kingdom, we were attacked by a skeorx. Our group was decimated, and my sponsor was killed. My career of wandering began then, and I managed to train myself and eke out a living in Barsaive's major cities, defending myself from robbers and creatures with my sky raider talents.
Eventually, my wanderings brought me to Throal, albeit much later than I had planned when I left the Twilight Peaks. My skills and writings landed me a position with the library, and my talents and reputation as a wanderer led to my assignment cataloguing the Bearers of Akasha.
