The Smoke Prism is a large pyramidal piece of smoky quartz that seems to contain several mulitcolored sparks which dance around inside the crystal. It is usually carried as an amulet around the neck or affixed to the top of a spellcaster's staff. The unique nature of the crystal causes its True Pattern to easily store several spell matrices and assist the caster in powering those matrices.

Key Knowledge: The wielder must know that this crystal is named the Smoke Prism.
Cost: 150 LP
Effect: The Smoke Prism functions as a normal spell matrix capable of storing one first circle spell. Due to the complex nature of the prism's pattern, this matrix cannot be reattuned on the fly.
Rank Two:
Key Knowledge: None
Cost: 200 LP
Effect: The prism functions as a matrix capable of storing four circles worth of spells in any combination (one fourth, two second, one third and one first, etc.). However, the matrix can still be attacked as a single normal matrix and if destroyed, all the spells are lost (much in the same manner as a split matrix).
Rank Three:
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn that the main ritual used to created the Smoke Prism is Named Yokehol's Astral Focus.
Cost: 500 LP
Effect: The prism now acts like a normal matrix capable of storing up to nine circles of spells. In addition, all attempts to weave threads to a spell in the prism are made at a difficulty number two less than usual.
Rank Four:
Key Knowledge: The Smoke Prism must be fully enchanted before the quartz is removed from its bedrock in order to absorb the energy to power its True Pattern. The wielder must learn that the Name of the Liferock where the Smoke Prism was made is called Stoneroot Liferock.
Cost: 650 LP
Effect: The matrix now acts as a single armored matrix, giving each spell contained within it one pre-woven thread if neccessary.
